Attention, quad-core watchers! At CES 2013, Alcatel will step up as the first device-maker to unveil a quad-core smartphone using MediaTek's quad-core processor: the Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD.
The Taiwan-based MediaTek just announced its MT6589 quad-core chipset last month, making it the newest entrant into the ever-growing smartphone core war.
There aren't any more details on the Scribe HD, other than the fact that it'll feature a high-definition screen, though I'd also wager it'll use Android as its OS and sport a screen at least 4.3 or 4.5-inches.
In addition to showcasing its quad-core effort, Alcatel will also reveal the Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra smartphone, which it claims is the thinnest smartphone yet. The phone's exact width is still unknown, so some other CES product could always surprise us at the show next week.
On the tablet side, Alcatel's One Touch Evo7 HD modular tablet will make an appearance, though other details are scarce; the One Touch Link W800 WiFi hotspot internet key rounds out the One Touch product line, at least for now.
CNET will bring you hands-on photos, video, and first impressions from Alcatel's lineup at CES, so keep your eyes on us.
